فرح مؤقت… وخسارة بحجم وطن

أن تُعلن الحكومة عطلة رسمية ليومين بسبب مباراة كرة قدم، فهذه ليست مجرد مبالغة في الفرح…
بل تعبير صريح عن غياب الإحساس بالمسؤولية.

لسنا ضد الفرح…
لكن أي دولة هذه التي تتوقف من أجل مباراة؟

العراق اليوم يقف على اقتصاد هش،
يعتمد على موردٍ واحد، ويكاد يخلو من الإنتاج الحقيقي،
وفي ظل هذا الواقع، كل يوم عمل يُعطَّل… هو نزيف مباشر.

بلغة الأرقام:
إذا كانت ميزانية العراق تقارب 100 مليار دولار سنويًا،
فإن قيمة اليوم الواحد تقارب:

حوالي 270 مليون دولار يوميًا

أي أن عطلة ليومين تعني خسارة تُقدّر بـ:
أكثر من نصف مليار دولار

وهذه ليست أرقامًا نظرية،
بل إنتاج متوقف، مصالح معطّلة، فرص مهدورة، وتأخير يتراكم فوق تأخير.

لكن الأخطر من الخسارة المالية…

هو ترسيخ ثقافة الهروب من الواقع.

شعبٌ لا يُنتج،
ودولةٌ تُعطّل نفسها طوعًا،
وحكومة تتخذ من الفرح مبررًا لإيقاف عجلة الحياة.

أي منطق هذا؟

الدول تُقاس بقدرتها على الاستمرار… لا بالتوقف.
وتُحترم حين تعمل في أصعب الظروف… لا حين تُغلق أبوابها لأتفه الأسباب.


نحن لسنا ضد المنتخب…
لكننا ضد أن تُدار حكومة بعقلية جمهور.
الفرح لا يُبنى على حساب العمل،
والوطن لا يُدار بالعاطفة… بل بالمسؤولية

Temporary Joy… A Loss the Size of a Nation

Declaring a two-day public holiday because of a football match is not merely an exaggeration of celebration…
it is a clear expression of a lack of responsibility.

We are not against joy…
but what kind of state comes to a halt for a match?

Iraq today stands on a fragile economy,
dependent on a single resource, with little to no real production.
In such a reality, every lost working day is a direct bleed.

In numbers:

If Iraq’s annual budget is around $100 billion,
then the value of a single day is approximately:

$270 million per day

Which means a two-day holiday results in a loss of:
over half a billion dollars

These are not theoretical figures…
they represent halted production, delayed interests, lost opportunities, and compounding setbacks.

But more dangerous than the financial loss…

is the normalization of escaping reality.

A people that does not produce,
a state that willingly shuts itself down,
and a government that uses joy as a justification to stop the wheel of life.

What kind of logic is this?

Nations are measured by their ability to continue… not to stop.
They earn respect by working through hardship… not by shutting down at the simplest occasions.

Joy should not come at the expense of productivity,
and a nation is not governed by emotion… but by responsibility.
